A Regional Revival Center – Mass Deliverance – Prophetic word on Detroit’s finances

I’m sitting in an Alistair Petrie summit in Sarnia, Ontario Canada right now, and I’m stirred!  He’s talking about principles of city transformation, which is the capture-00000-10-24-2009 topic of the hour in Detroit.

I’ve been connecting with Bishop Larry Jackson and others this week in meetings, and it seems that God is suddenly sparking a lot of hearts at the same time.  Urgency is increasing quickly.

Revival Church has a mandate to focus on regional revival and transformation.  Our heart is to effectively connect the city church, pour into it and do our part in starting fires of revival.

SUNDAY

4pm- If you have any level of interest in the mission of revival at Revival Church, you are invited to a very important meeting tomorrow (Sunday) at 4pm.  This is a gathering and vision imparting meeting that will give you a lot of info and will help you connect with other revivalists.  We’ll be downstairs in the children’s ministry room.  Again, this is for anybody reading this message, whether you have been with us since the beginning, or you’ve never been to an event. (please be prompt and also be respectful of Mercy and Truth Church that will be meeting in the sanctuary until 5:30pm for a special event)

6pm- Join us for a night of passionate prayer, declaration, worship, dance, freedom in the Holy Spirit and vision driven teaching.

MASS DELIVERANCE

There have been some interesting prophetic words on my life regarding ‘mass deliverance’.  I function in personal deliverance regularly, and have started to see deliverance on a corporate level ramp up.  What I feel is coming next is mass, city-wide deliverance.  Alistair Petrie is teaching now on this concept!  As vivid and undeniable truth invades a person, that person can easily and suddenly be free.  As the secret things come to the surface and as light is shined into a situation, the power that deception has had is instantly dissolved.

This will also come to a city.  Strongholds will break on a city level.

PROPHETIC WORD- KINGDOM FINANCES

For example, last night I had a strong prophetic impression.  God was saying, “Now! Now! The church must move now in the financial realm.  Right this moment the secular world is sitting around board room tables planning on instilling principles and methods to rescue Detroit from financial ruin. This must not happen. The church must not allow the world to run ahead and put into place humanistic strategies that will bring greater harm.  The Church must set into place Kingdom principles in the city.”

We can’t afford to let the world maintain its level of influence on the economy.  The Church and biblical financial principles must be brought into the story!

Alistair Petrie said, “Kingdom finances will be released as integrity and Kingdom culture develops and prevails.”

He also said that the church is a litmus test of the society it is in.  The culture of the church is an indicator of the culture of a city.  We must see Kingdom financial (and all other!) principles activated in the church and individual local churches of Detroit.

He said, “You can’t pray for transformation in your city unless you go through the same thing yourself that you’re asking for others to experience.  We must become ‘changed agents’ before becoming ‘agents of change’.”

Revival Church Team Meeting : Visitors and Ministers at Revival Church

TEAM MEETING THIS SUNDAY for all current and prospective Revival Church ‘ministers’ at 4pm.

If my memory serves me correctly, it took nearly three years to reach the place at Revolution Church in Manitou Springs, Colorado that we have all reached with Revival Church in Detroit in just a couple of months.  This is a testament to nothing other than God’s radically increased and urgent activity in this region.  The moment is now.Revival Church

Amy and I are thrilled to be pressing ahead toward an outpouring in Detroit with everybody who’s connecting at Revival Church.

The ‘now moment’ and the prophetic whirlwind that we’re in right now demands that we strategically organize, gather the troops and raise our level of alert.

We’re blown away at the excitement that’s bursting in and through everybody that’s been with us in the early stages of this church plant.  Look out- something is brewing!  The heat is increasing- and fast!

We’d like to ask everybody who’s connected with us to consider your participation level and to step into position quickly.

We’ll be having a TEAM MEETING this Sunday at 4pm for everybody who’s interested in joining the ministry team at Revival Church.

Here’s a breakdown of the two commitment levels:

As we strategically work toward tangible, reportable revival in Detroit, we value a strong commitment to the mission. There are two ways to land:

Visitors

We honor and understand the process of discovery for those who are prayerfully investigating Revival Church as a possible church home. This process can take as long or as short as is necessary for you. As a visitor at Revival Church feel free to participate at any level you choose. Additionally, as a regional Revival Center we understand that many will be connecting here as a supplement to their current church home. We value this strategy and thank you for running the race with us.

Ministers

The coming revival is going to demand that we are ordered, strategic and positioned well. The bar of commitment to this mission must be higher than many of us may be accustomed to. With this in mind, we encourage people to move from the status of visitor to the status of minister as quickly as possible. The qualifications of minister:

  • Participate in our primary Sunday service (including prayer at 5pm)
  • Participate in a weekly two-hour corporate prayer meeting at Revival Church, the International House of Prayer East Detroit or another church or ministry
  • Participate on a ministry team which includes a two-hour weekly team meeting

So, again, if you are planning on joining a ministry team, or desire more info, it’s imperative that you are at the TEAM MEETING this SUNDAY at 4pm, just prior to our 5pm prayer watch.  We’ll be connecting people with teams and sharing the vision for the next season.

Feel free to contact me if there are any questions or if there are schedule conflicts.  Blessings!

Don’t miss the wind : Revival Church Photos : Powerful night with Jeff Garvin : Listen to the sermon online now

What a way to kick off Revival Church!  Jeff Garvin from the Florida Outpouring preached with power and authority last night!

Jeff said that God wants to put Lakeland on steroids in Detroit!  A Detroit Outpouring is coming!

He talked about personal dramatic encounters with angels, the Holy Spirit and how all of that exploded into the Lakeland, Florida Outpouring.  He laid on the cement floor of his garage for 18 months and was visited by God powerfully as he trembled day after day.

He asked last night, “When was the last time you wobbled out of church?!”  There is a trembling drunkenness coming to Detroit.  The overwhelming, joy filled saturating infusion of God is coming!

You can listen to his sermon online now at www.praytherevolution.com/media.  If you are reading this on our blog you can use the player here:

There were healings and a lot of people were radically set free.  One person told me, as her face was beaming, that she is literally walking out of the building a differentimage person.  Depression and suicide were powerfully broken off of people.  The joy of the Lord will be a primary driver in this revival!  Jeff said that we are to laugh the hell out of Detroit!

Revival is coming to Detroit.  You must be contending and in position!  A prophetic word last night sums it up- the wind is coming, set your sails, and whatever you do, DON’T MISS THE WIND!  This means that, yes, you can miss it.  I can miss it.  However, we are without excuse!  The wind is coming!  Countless people are sensing this reality and the alarm has been sounded!  Don’t spend another day in the same position you’ve been in for as long as you can remember!

  • What not to do: Continue your life as usual. Don’t stay in the rut.  Don’t adhere to the same daily schedule you have had for years.  Don’t just sit back and wait. You will most certainly miss the wind.
  • What to do: Contend! Get in position. Get strategic. Pray at new levels. Cancel much of what has been consuming your daily schedule and get to church, get into prayer, connect with ministries, study revival, receive impartation and breathe fire into your world!

Let’s gather together in the pursuit of revival in Detroit.  Revival Church isn’t simply a church, but it’s a revival command center for this region.  Our intent is to draw people in from all over the region, impart fire into them, train them and strategically plan on how image to take that fire into churches, stadiums, homes, businesses, the government and every place the light can shine.

I believe we’re launching Revival Church on Sunday evenings (as opposed to Sunday mornings for the time being) for a couple of good reasons: It opens the door for many people who are wonderfully committed in other great churches to receive impartation and training in a focused stream of revival fire.  They can help take the fire of revival back into their churches.  Also, it opens the door for me to travel and minister on Sunday mornings on strategic revival in Detroit area churches.  We can play our part in developing a strategic network of revival in the region.  You can learn more about booking me at www.praytherevolution.com/booking.

We hope to see you at Revival Church this week!  www.detroitrevivalchurch.com

  • Revival Meeting: Sundays 6pm

Podcast : City strategy : Multiple church commitment

First- don’t forget a night of vision and power with Jeff Garvin from the Lakeland, Florida Outpouring THIS SUNDAY at 6pm.  Check out the info at JeffGarvinRevivalChurch www.detroitrevivalchurch.com.

I regularly consider how we are going to see the massive reformation in the church come to pass.  The way we see church today will become a distant memory as the entire structure changes.

We’ll need to take intentional steps toward a city church structure, which means the face of the local church is going to morph considerably.

Some preliminary steps:

  • Multiple church commitment: We will begin to see people primarily commit to one church and also commit (truly commit, no hopping allowed!) at a lesser, yet still significant level at other churches.  When this happens, every church won’t have to be focused broadly on everything, but they will focus intently on the few areas they are called and gifted to facilitate.  When the body is expected to connect at only one church, they in turn have no other option but to expect that church to have a broad focusThe current system works against itself.  When the reformation comes, a family will connect in one church where they will serve and sit under apostolic leadership that’s running with strength in a streamlined ministry, and on other days and nights of the week they may serve at another church’s youth ministry, Bible study or small group.  An important element here is that the various leaders of the churches in the city take on the role of associate leaders of the city church.  So instead of thinking of it like people frequenting multiple local churches, they are actually strategically connecting in multiple departments of the city church.  So, for example, those involved at a core level at Revival Church are expected to commit to a corporate prayer meeting every week.  This can be done at Revival Church, at the International House of Prayer East Detroit, or any other church they are connected with.  In fact, for the current season, we have our primary services on Sunday evenings which opens my schedule up to minister at other churches in the area (booking info here) while also connecting with committed members of other churches who want to contend with us in prayer and teaching on Sunday or Wednesday nights.
  • Prayer as a primary ministry: We must start where the first church started in Acts 2- in the prayer room.  It’s shocking how absent prayer is in the church, and it’s terrifying how few Christians are intimately connected with Jesus in the place of prayer.  I propose we cancel most everything we’re doing in the church and hit our face night and day and pray, and soak, and intercede and declare as a corporate body.
  • Connecting with apostolic and prophetic leaders: Someone at the Revival Church prayer meeting last night saw a powerful vision of four massive eagles flying into Detroit, one from each of the four corners of the world.  We need to pray in, invite in and partner with apostolic and prophetic leaders who God is preparing right now.  In fact, many including Rick Joyner, Jeff Garvin (who will be at Revival Church this Sunday evening) and others are already strategically thinking about the coming Detroit Outpouring.

I have a new podcast player on the sidebar of our blog and on our main site at www.praytherevolution.com/media.  I’d encourage you to listen to the three most recent podcasts as I discuss this issue in depth.

Time Magazine : Detroit financial reformation : The church

As I have often shared recently, I have felt since before we moved to Detroit in May that there is a coming two-fold spiritual AND financial revival.image

The Church is in the midst of an opportunity unlike any other in our lifetime- to display the power, effectiveness and efficiency of biblical Kingdom financial principles.

Revival Church is in its infancy, yet we are determined to see a business department develop that will do the following:

  • Offer deliverance from wrong mindsets, demonic influence and a spirit of poverty
  • Train in biblical financial principles
  • Equip people to develop new skills
  • Actually have business opportunities identified for people to step in to

We don’t only want to offer hand outs- the goal is to see people proactively move from unemployment, welfare or sub-standard employment situations into health, prosperous and biblically sound new realities.

The testimony about Detroit should be: We cannot deny that God, His Church and biblical principles were the direct reason for financial revival in Detroit.

Here’s some snips and a link to an article by the folks in the recently purchased house here in Detroit- Time Magazine.  I left a comment on that site.

http://detroit.blogs.time.com/2009/10/12/a-key-to-our-salvation/

A Key To Our Salvation?

Personally, I don’t need to read any more "letters" to or from Detroit, but at least in this one Detroit native Ryan Mack offers a reasoned, proactive take on seedy businesses, our economic climate and what more we can do to change our material conditions.

Most intriguing to me is the following:

What would happen if churches learned how to combine forces and create economic development corporations? The largest employer in Queens, New York is Floyd Flake of Allen AME Church Cathedral and last I checked he has $30+ million Corporation with over $75 million in real estate assets. Other churches like Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, Harlem Congregations of Community Improvement, and the list goes on across the country of how churches have used their leverage for the greater good of the community. We can do the same in Detroit. If done right, an economic movement of the church can create thousands of jobs for the city of Detroit.

Whatever your position on faith and religion, do you think Detroit houses of worship can and should develop a broad-scale cooperative effort to attack the city’s worst problems?
