God moved in power last night at IHOPE-Detroit. We’re doing it again TONIGHT at 7pm! You don’t (I really mean you DON’T) want to miss it!
Here’s a Facebook comment I received from someone who was there last night:
"I have never laughed so hard in my life…and nothing was even funny!!! AND, I know funny!!! But let me report to you…I have this settledness in my spirit…a purity feeling? (if you will) is this what complete peace feels like cuz oh man…I always want this. Dude, I’m like kinda numb on the inside in a good way…and my thoughts aren’t racing…the only real thoughts I’m having are of God. He has calmed my mind. WooooooooHoooooooooo He Reigns in me!!!"
I talked about the KABOD, the weighty presence of the Holy Spirit. People were spread out on their face all over the church!
This is to be a normal, average experience! It should be normal to walk in to our churches on a Sunday morning and tremble and collapse to our knees as the weighty glory of God hits us. It should be normal, but we are living in a day in which it is rare!
In a day where we are attempting to fill the seats of our churches with any number of church growth strategies, I contend that our goal should be to empty the building out!
We need a 2 Chronicles 7 reformation!
2 Chronicles 7:1-3 (NIV) 1 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, "He is good; his love endures forever."
The glory of God was so overwhelming that people couldn’t make it into the church that day! Instead, they were spread out all around the exterior, with their faces in the pavement, and they worshiped!
This is normal church! This is it!
We have to ask the question- are we focused on attracting people or the presence? If there is no presence, there is little need for people to be there. There is little we can minister to them. But when the KABOD of God is in the house- everything changes!
Let’s see a reformation of the church and the Christian experience. Let’s see the heavy, all consuming glory of the Lord start to arrive in our churches!
I’m so excited about Revival Church… please be praying about how you can participate. We are developing a launch team, and we are requesting donations. If you would like to give, just let me know. john@detroitrevivalchurch.com.
This is going to be a church that has a KABOD focus! We’ll corporately pray and sing in the spirit with passion. We’ll stimulate and embrace the extreme activity of the Holy Spirit. We’ll do everything we know to do to ensure God is burning night and day!
We have our 2nd Revival Church pre-launch meeting coming up on Wednesday, August 5th. Please join us! Bring the kids! Bring your passion! RSVP by emailing me at john@detroitrevivalchurch.com.
The website is www.detroitrevivalchurch.com.
