Hi from John and Amy!

This message is for two groups of people:

1. clip_image001Those who live in the Detroit area and who may be led of the Lord to investigate a possible revival/prophecy/prayer driven church plant

2. Those who will partner with us in prayer, relationship and various forms of support as we take this step into the unknown

We are in the midst of the most active and intriguing chapter of our lives, and we are becoming more and more alert to the call and mission here in Detroit.

We feel it is imperative that there is a ‘revival command center’, a church on fire that is intentionally advancing toward revival in Detroit.  With this in mind, we are aggressively praying and starting some preliminary planning for a church plant in Grosse Pointe.  A Grosse Pointe location may be key as there seems to be a lack of similar churches in this area.  We’re praying for some hungry people to jump on board with us.

If you would like to be at this meeting (date to be determined) at our home in Grosse Pointe, please respond right away.  This will help us gauge interest and help us plan accordingly.  Please share your general schedule with us so we can try to accommodate as many interested people as possible for this first meeting.

This church will be unapologetically focused on prayer, revival and the prophetic.  It will be a ‘revelation driven church’ that will cry out night and day for the presence of God to consume us and our city.

It’s possible that this church plant could mirror a dual church plant in Colorado Springs.  It would be a unique experiment to say the least.

As we continue to receive confirmation that this is the right season and the right idea I’ll be developing vision materials.

Some of the possible content in those materials might look something like this:

clip_image002WE AFFIRM…

· Prayer is the primary ministry of every believer

· The power and supremacy of the Bible

· A lifestyle of humility

· The intentional pursuit of revival which is the reestablishment of biblical normalcy

· The development of deep intimacy with God

· A joyful corporate atmosphere of passion for Jesus

· The importance of embracing prophecy and freedom in the Holy Spirit

· Extravagant giving into the Kingdom

· The call for the church to be the driver of culture and not to be driven by culture

· The responsibility to contend for souls in our city and in the nations

The mission statement is: Making it easy for people to thoroughly enjoy God

We’d be closely following the structure I wrote about in 20 Elements of Revival.

Additionally, everybody would be designated as either a visitor or a minister.  Simply, a visitor is someone who’s transitioning in, praying about how to connect, etc.  One becomes a minister when they join a ministry team and participate in service, fellowship and prayer each week.

We haven’t landed on a name yet… but something as simple as “Detroit Revival Church” might just make sense.

This church would be a ‘war room’ of zealous prayer, intercession, praying in the Spirit, apostolic teaching, prophecy, etc.  Prophetic art, dance, etc. will be a part of the experience as well.

I see us very intentionally connecting key ministries and events in the city… to help bring strategy and purposeful order as we all hunger for a massive outpouring here.  We’ll be closely connected with Ron Zettle and IHOPE as well.

As you probably know, Amy and I planted Revolution Church in Manitou Springs, Colorado several years ago, and have been blown away by how God moves as we serve His Church.  We’d expect even greater miracles and outpourings here in Detroit… and again in Colorado if these two ministries launch together!

Nothing is decided upon yet… the upcoming meeting will be to explore this idea with likeminded people.  Please respond very soon (the next day or so) if you are interested.  I’d also like to hear from you if you don’t live near Detroit, but feel God’s pulse on this.

Feel free to forward this on to others who might be interested.

More info about our ministry can be found at www.praytherevolution.com.  To ask questions or to let us know you would like to be at the meeting, you can email me at john@praytherevolution.com or call 719.387.1740.

This could be powerful!

John and Amy
