Listen. Can you hear His voice? What’s He saying? Those questions have probably frustrated more people through the ages than we could fathom. Books have been written about unanswered prayer. The walls of pastor’s and counselor’s offices have soaked up countless quotes like, “I don’t hear God”. “God doesn’t talk to me.” “I have no idea what I’m supposed to do”. And then, like clockwork, the question is asked to the counselor, “What do YOU think I should do?” After all, to ask that question of someone we can see, and someone who can hear us, not to mention someone who will instantly talk back… audibly… so we can hear clearly and easily… seems to make a lot of sense. Certainly that person has the answers we’re looking for, right? Well, sometimes yes, sometimes no.
