Mobile Podcast : Drupal : New 20 Elements website : House of Prayer movement

capture-00006-8-7-2008 I’m very excited- I installed Drupal!  I’m guessing most of you have no idea what that means, but suffice it to say, I found an amazing content management system for my website.

I’m using it to serve up my NEW site: www.20elements.com.  That domain isn’t quite active yet… but, you get get there through the back door by visiting www.r180.com/drupal.

There’s just a front page right now, but on that page I do share a bit of the vision PLUS the document God burned in my spirit a few years ago titled, A Call for Reformation in the Church.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

And, now, here’s a follow-up podcast on my previous post and video on the house of prayer vs. the church.  If you are reading this in your email or RSS reader, head on over to www.revolutionexperience.com and check out the blog post previous to this one.

And… one more time… check out the BRAND NEW website… www.20elements.com (or, if it’s not working yet, www.r180.com/drupal).

Wow! That was great. One of the things that so impresses me about IHOP-KC and Mike Bickle's teachings is how much emphasis is put on tending the garden of your heart. You can fake your way through so much of “church” these days, but when it comes to prayer, if you're heart isn't right, you know it and you can't stand to pray 15 minutes much less for 2 hours.

That's an important point about 'faking our way' through church. It's quite a serious issue. In some ways, the call to prayer is a critical barometer of our lives. You can't really fake your way through a lifestyle of prayer. I wrote about this in my book, “The Terror of Hell.”

Resistance to that call to prayer should cause great concern in our own lives… I believe it's indicative of an 'at risk' position in Christ. I'm not talking about struggling in prayer or questions about how to do it… I mean, if we resist the process of discovery in the presence of God, we must really take inventory of our lives.

Hey John I am also in the process of shifting to Drupal. I agree it is better and easier to use.

  5. John Burton says:

For your own site? Or the church's? Did you set it up yourself?

A Call for Reformation in the Church was intense! I loved it. Are you sure you wrote it or was it someone named Leonard? ;-)

Let's find a zealous people that will cancel life and pursue revival non-stop until it breaks out!

I believe so. I haven't gone to far into the investigation… but, I'm sure there are a lot of plugins (or 'modules')… Drupal is quite popular. I'm still more comfortable with Wordpress… but, it seems as if Drupal has some advantages.

I do have a huge question for any Drupal and/or Wordpress pros out there- I have zero anxiety over losing the data on a static/standard website. But, my Wordpress blog just crashed terribly. I lost everything. When I started from scratch, and then attempted to import my backup, I discovered there is an 8mb limit. So, as a designer, I AM anxious over losing data on Wordpress or Drupal. In fact, I didn't only lose my blog, but, since I was using WPMU, I lost my clients data too. Should I have confidence in Drupal and Wordpress? If so, what is the foolproof way to backup and restore?
