Mobile-Video-Podcast Mobile Video : Church marketing : 80% of people wont visit a church that has a poor or non-existent web presence

Here’s another quick video, this time on the topic of effective church and ministry marketing.  As always, if you are reading this in your email, you’ll need to head on over to www.revolutionexperience.com to view the video.

I am pulling this stat from memory, but I believe I heard that over 80% of people wont even visit a church if the church has a poor or non-existent website.  Keep in mind, the two most important web driven elements that you MUST use consistently are video and email marketing.

Here are some additional stats that I found on the Church Marketing Sucks website:

  • Only 33% of churches who responded to the survey felt their Internet ministry was a success.
  • Organizations that used blogs had a success rate 19% higher than those who didn’t use blogs.
  • Organizations that used video had a success rate 22% higher than those who didn’t use video.
  • Organizations that tracked stats had success 51% of the time, compared to organizations that didn’t track their stats and had success only 16% of the time.
  • Relying on volunteers also seemed to have a negative impact on the success of an online ministry.

If you search for a church in any city of your choosing, you will find a strangely low ration of churches that actually even have a website.  Then, when you find one that does, it’s usually poorly designed.

It’s normal for me to hear a client report that their church’s current website was designed by a volunteer.  Yes, this can save money, but, unless the volunteer is quite skilled as a designer, their help may actually be a hindrance.  If what they output is sub-standard, the whole world will attach that analysis to your church as a whole.

However, a simple yet sharp and compelling site can do wonders.  I’d love to help you with your website, and also with your print design.

A simple site, on average, will take between 20-30 hours to complete.  Of course, more complex sites will take longer.  If you have a budget in mind, let me know what that is and I’ll give you a clear estimate on what we can do.
